In this play, playwright Mike van Graan tackles the controversial theme of the continuous conflict between Jewish, Muslim and Christian communities. The production is set in 1999 in Cape Town when People Against Gangsterism and Drugs (Pagad) was applauded by some people for taking action against crime. The group was feared by others for its apparent militant nature and Islamic appearance. The play makes a simple plea: for human beings to cross religious and racial boundaries, to get to know each other as people so that relationships based on knowledge and respect are able to be the key defence against tension, fear and anxiety that are birthed by ignorance and prejudice.
