Growth and development

THE City's Growth and Development Strategy (GDS) is its long-term plan to ensure sustainable delivery of services, deal with social and economic development, involve residents in local government and promote a safe and healthy environment. It encompasses the ideas expressed in all other City strategies, and takes into account the province's GDS, the National Spatial Development Perspective, the Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative for South Africa (Asgisa) and the strategies of surrounding municipalities, particularly Tshwane and Ekurhuleni.
