THE City of Johannesburg Municipality is offering 100 bursaries to South African citizens who permanently reside in Johannesburg to pursue full-time undergraduate studies in one of the following fields:

  • Built Environment (Architecture, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Town & Regional Planning, etc.)
  • Commerce
  • Environmental Health 
  • Environmental Management
  • Engineering (all fields)
  • Fire technology
  • GeoInformatics
  • Information Technology
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Nature Conservation
  • Political Science
  • Real Estate or Property Management
  • Social work
  • Transportation Modelling

Applicants are expected to study at any accredited South African tertiary institution. It is the student's responsibility to seek admission with a tertiary institution. The bursary is for study programmes of no less than one year. Selection of successful candidates will be strictly on academic merit. The bursary is renewable on annually, based on academic performance/results.

The Bursary: Covers tuition and registration fees, prescribed books and/or study material and is limited to R 15,000.00 per academic year.

Certified copies of must accompany applications:

  • Most recent academic record;
  • South African Identity Document;
  • Proof of residency in Johannesburg (Statement of Water & Lights, Rates & Taxes)
