rev4.jpgNotice

The valuation roll is currently being updated as a result of the objection review process. The valuation services directorate will inform you in writing of the outcome of your objection. The valuation roll search facility has been temporarily disconnected until the objection process has been finalised. Once the roll has been updated, the search facility will be made available again.

Please note, the supplementary valuation roll for part of the financial year 2008 to 2009 (1 July 2008 to 30 November 2008) is open for public inspection from 8 April 2009 to 22 May 2009.

FOR the first time in the City’s history, property rates are now based on the combined market value of a property, as stipulated by the Municipal Property Rates Act (MPRA). In the past, rates were based on land value only.

The value of each rateable property in the City is listed in the General Valuation Roll. The General Valuation Roll is a legal document containing the property information for each and every rateable property in the city.

Based on this information, we can calculate the rates and taxes payable by each property owner.
