WHITE Cockatoo is an Australian indigenous performing group made up of
senior Aboriginal men from Arnhem Land, in the northern territory of
Australia.
The artists are from the Mialili, Guningu, Rembarrnga and Burrara
language groups, sharing the same social and family affiliations.
Their corroboree (their music, song and dance) is a part of one of the
planet’s oldest unbroken artistic traditions, and their country is the
traditional birthplace and home of the Australian Aboriginal musical
instrument the Didgeridoo.
Chiwoniso, who fronts the acoustic group Chiwoniso and Vibe Culture,
has collaborated with musicians Marie Boine, Brilliant, Kris
Kristoffersen and Sinead O’Connor as well as singing with Women’s Voice.
