Inner City High Schools Drama Festival 2008 PDF Print E-mail

HILLBROW Theatre Project presents the 4th Inner City High Schools Drama Festival 2008 at the Hillbrow Theatre on the 10, 11, 12 and 13 of September 2008.

The Hillbrow Theatre Project, an initiative of the Lutheran Community Outreach Foundation (Hillbrow) is proud to announce the 4th Inner City High Schools Drama Festival which will take place at the Hillbrow Theatre from the 8th to the 13th of September 2008. The theme for this year's festival is Respect Yourself; Respect your World and 13 Inner City High Schools are hard at work creating original plays on this theme.

This theatre event was established to help promote drama in the inner city high schools and to contribute towards building positive attitudes and behavior within the inner city community. Through drama and other arts projects inner city learners can start to engage and deal with issues that affect them. This project also promotes dialogue between the various inner city schools to help build a strong and vibrant inner city community.

The Joburg Arts & Culture Strategic Support has again recognized the importance of the event by offering support and has invited the event to be part of the Arts Alive programme for 2008. This event is also made possible through the generous support of the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund and the Anglo American Chairman's Fund.
