Friday, 12 September 2008

GAUTENG Dance Manyano, in partnership with Arts Alive 2008, is pleased to announce its dance festival -  Dance Manyano Season  2008 .

The Rocks of Manyano will be presented at Uncle Toms Hall (Orlando West), Soweto on 20 and 21 September 2008. Gauteng Dance Manyano, an organisation known and recognised for its empowerment of local dancers, is pleased to have contributed in raising the standard of dance Gauteng.

Dance Manyano Season, a Dance Festival initiated in 2004, has over the past five years, played a major role in celebrating and acknowledging the hard work and dedication of many past and present Gauteng dancers. It has built up a tremendous history in a very short space of time. The festival is a way of paying tribute to many local dancers from different regions in Gauteng - a celebration of their commitment, discipline, hard work, dedication, passion and perseverance.  It is also a show of appreciation to all the dancers who gave their support and continue to do so. It  also provides another platform and opportunity for Dance Manyano to recount  South Africa's magnificent living culture, our everyday life, past and present experiences, and tradition through movement.

The festival runs over two days and the theme for this year is The Rocks of Manyano.
