The annual concert, which usually attracts hundreds of revellers both young and old, will take place on Sunday, 27 September from noon to 6pm at Kremetart Park in Eldorado Park Extension 3.

"The Eldos Jazz Festival provides a platform for aspiring artists to share the stage with more established artists," says the festival co-ordinator, Berenice le Grange.

This year's line up includes artists such as Julius Schultz, Mr Keyz, Bryce Anderson and Anonymous. Contemporary dancer Juliana as well as hip-hop dance groups Besupreme and Music Mayday SA Xplore, a combination of Dutch and South African dancers, will also perform.

Guitar maestro Selaelo Selota, Bianca le Grange and Trudie Mackaye will perform as a trio, while Jamaican reggae musician Etana will be performing for the first time at the Eldos Jazz Festival.

For the past three years, the concert has been part of the City's Arts Alive, a month-long fiesta of music, dance, theatre and visual art. Le Grange believes the Eldos Jazz Festival's association with Arts Alive is mutually beneficial, and gives the festival a chance to identify itself with big brands and initiatives such as Arts Alive.

As a proudly South African brand, the Eldos Jazz Festival is committed to the upliftment of "this beautiful country and allows individuals to celebrate the country's arts and culture".

Alcohol will not be allowed at the concert, but there will be a beer garden and kiosk, and vendors will sell food.

Security measures will be strict: no alcohol, drugs or any dangerous weapons and plastic cups and bottles only. Secure parking will be available at Boekenhout Primary School for R10 a vehicle.
