THE City works in partnership with the Reproductive Health Research Unit in Hillbrow on a commercial sex workers project in the inner city and the Hillbrow area.

To date teams have visited 10 brothels, where they spoke to 231 commercial sex workers, distributing male and female condoms and educational material.

They have managed to persuade a small number of these commercial sex workers to undergo CD4 count tests, which are done to determine the rate of HIV infection in the body.
