The current executive mayor

Executive Mayor Amos MasondoExecutive Mayor Amos Masondo is responsible – strategically and politically – for a city the size of Los Angeles, with 109 election wards stretching from Orange Farm in the south to Midrand in the north, Roodepoort in the west and Edenvale in the east.

Masondo, who was appointed Johannesburg’s first executive mayor in December 2000, started a second term after local government elections in March 2006.
