JOHANNESBURG has drawn up a range of important strategies to help it meet its vision of being a world-class African city. These are completed after intensive consultation with the public and other stakeholders.

The pivotal plan is the City's Growth and Development Strategy, which sets out the vision and mission of Johannesburg's long-term development strategies. This is supported by the City's Integrated Development Plan, which looks at the way forward over a five-year period. The IDP is reviewed and revised every year.
