Overview

The City of Joburg Property Company (JPC) was established as an independent company mandated by its single shareholder (the City of Johannesburg, or CoJ) to carry out:

  • Property development;
  • Alienation of the Greater Johannesburg Metropolitan Council properties;
  • Property management services; and
  • All ancillary services to the above.

The main object of the company was defined as being "to develop and manage Council-owned properties for the purpose of maximising both social and commercial opportunities for the Council in the short and longer term".
