Johannesburg has not forgotten the gamblers. There are two large casinos inside the city, two more on the outskirts, and others less than two hours drive away. Between them they offer 8 164 slot machines and 291 gaming tables - have fun!

Theatre
Homegrown South African theatre is alive and well, as evidenced by the myriad productions staged at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in July each year. Many of these travel the country afterwards, often ending up at Johannesburg's famous Market Theatre at the Newtown Cultural Precinct, or at the Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein.

Sisulu turns hundred
HAD he still been alive, Walter Sisulu would be 100. The City and others celebrated his legacy on this important milestone, saying he was an example to all.
 
Diepsloot Park gets a gym
THE second outdoor gym has opened in Joburg, this time in Diepsloot. Excited residents greeted the opening, and were keen to learn how to use the equipment.
 
Utilities take the floor
AFRICAN Utility Weeks starts today, with much food for thought on the table, and opportunity to find solutions to power and water challenges.
 
Police help charities
TWO organisations that benefited from the Chief of Police Charity Golf Day, an annual fundraiser, were delighted with the donations, handed over at the JMPD headquarters.
 
Library’s grandeur restored
THE Johannesburg City Library is a splendid building, made more so through the long restoration that has returned it to its glory days, and added some modern elements.
