COJ calls for Public Comment on the Draft Strategic Intergrated Transport Plan Framework
The City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality (CoJ) adopted its first 5-year term Integrated Transport Plan (ITP) (2003-2008) in October 2003. The life cycle of the first ITP came to an end in 2008 and as required by the National Land Transport Act (NLTA), Act 5 of 2009, needs to be reviewed. The City of Johannesburg has reviewed its budget and reprioritised the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) programmes at midyear as provided for in Chapter 4 of the Municipal Systems Act of 2000. This has therefore, resulted in programmes being reviewed to align with the available budget.

Public consultation on the Gender Policy and Women Development Strategy
The City of Johannesburg Human and Social Development Cluster is in the process of reviewing the Women Development Strategy and the draft Gender Policy. The two documents are available on the Joburg website www.joburg.org,za for comments. he regional Departments of Social Development are currently spearheading the process of engaging with the city 's residents so that they are provided the opportunity to input on the documents, public engagement is currently underway through regional workshops and availing the documents at the Women Empowerment sites and people centres for comments.

The Public participation period is extended to the 15 March 2013 as supplementary information is available. The Report will be available from all Regional Offices and Council facilities and is published on the City's website for public comment . By-laws for hosting public events
The Joint Operations Committee ensures that all events held in the City of Johannesburg are safe and that the event organisers comply with all the By-Laws and Regulations of the City, as well as the Safety at Sports and Recreational Events Act no. 2 of 2010.
As per the new Safety at Sports and Recreational Events Act, it is now a legal requirement for all events to have Event Plans submitted by the Event Organisers to the National Commissioner of SAPS, a month before the event, for Risk Grading purposes.

The City of Johannesburg municipality is in the process of establishing the Office of the Ombudsman.The Office of the Ombudsman will examine complaints from members of the public who feel they have been unfairly treated by City of Johannesburg and municipal owned entities’ employees or departments. These complaints include billing and any other service delivery queries. The City of Johannesburg residents are encouraged to approach the Office of the Ombudsman with their queries after having exhausted all City of Johannesburg and the municipal owned entities’ internal query solving processes.
