Draft Consolidated Town Planning Scheme
THE purpose of a Town Planning Scheme is to enable the comprehensive management of all property and related public sector functions across the City, through the implementation of certain general guidelines.
The Town Planning Scheme applies to all properties within the municipal boundaries of the City of Johannesburg, as determined by the Municipal Demarcation Board.
In terms of Section 21 of the Municipal Systems Act, 32 of 2000, the 2010 Draft Scheme is available for public comment.
Copies of the Draft Town Planning Scheme are available for inspection and comment from 31 March to 28 April 2010 at all City of Johannesburg Regional Offices, the Metro Centre and the website.
All interested residents, businesses, groups and sectors are invited to submit written comments on the Draft Scheme to the City during the 28 day commencement period from 31 March to 28 April 2010. Comments may also be faxed to 011 339 4000 or emailed to
