Departmental Structure

THE department is headed by the executive director, Marina Mayer.

It is made up of eight directorates or units headed by directors, and a sub-unit dealing with the Expanded Public Works Programme led by a deputy director.

The 10 units are:

• corporate management and support services;
• trade and investment;
• spatial economic development;
• SMME development;
• sector support growth and sustainability;
• economic research;
• policy and programme integration;
• municipal-owned entities support, finance and administrative services;
• EPWP; and the
• targeted beneficiaries unit
