A dance festival is being planned at Space.com at the Joburg Theatre Complex, and choreographers have been invited to audition.
ASPIRING choreographers are invited to audition for Soul Dancer, a dance festival aimed at giving a platform to contemporary dance.
The auditions will be held from 25 to 27 April at Space.com, at the Joburg Theatre Complex, from 10am to 2pm.
"This dance festival aims to celebrate and give a platform to three forms of dance - African contemporary, street dance and modern contemporary works," said the complex's community development co-ordinator, Jabu Gwebu.
In all, 12 choreographers will be selected. During the festival, there will be workshops for each dance style, facilitated by professional dancers David April, Sibusiso Radebe, Craig Bullock and Salome Sechele.
The festival will take place at Space.com from 27 May to 7 June. It will showcase 12 works of street dance, African and modern contemporary dance.
