The City is holding a number of Development Planning Open Days

Residents have been invited to comment on draft plans for various regions and for the whole city at a series of Development Planning Open Days.

MEMBERS of the public and other interested parties are invited to Development Planning Open Days, by the department of development planning and urban management, to view and discuss draft City documents.

The City's development plans will be up for discussion and scrutiny from 4 to 13 March at a number of venues. The plans under consideration are the Draft Spatial Development Framework for 2010/11; the Draft Regional Spatial Development Frameworks for Regions A to G for 2010/11 and Recent Precinct Plans and Urban Development Frameworks.

According to the City, the Spatial Development Framework (SDF), with the Regional Spatial Development Frameworks (RSDFs), represents its prevailing spatial planning policy. It informs development proposals and applications that fall outside the scope of Town Planning Schemes and provides a citywide perspective on spatial challenges and interventions.

Officials from the department will be available to discuss these frameworks at the open days.

"The concept of the Planning Open Days is to create opportunities to not only present an overview of planning work, but to engage with interested parties on our planning work and for people's comments and concerns to be captured in both a verbal and written format," said Carolyn Lee, senior specialist: development planning and facilitation.
