There will be no long weekend for the hardworking Pikitup, which will stick to its usual schedule despite the public holidays.

JOBURGERS will enjoy the Easter weekend in a clean environment as Pikitup will collect refuse throughout the city on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

According to Pansy Oyedele, Pikitup’s communications manager, uncontaminated builders’ rubble can also be disposed free of charge at any of the City’s four landfill sites namely, Robinson Deep, Marie Louise, Goudkoppies and Ennerdale.

Good Friday is a holiday observed mostly by Christians, and is a public holiday in South Africa. The following Monday is also a legal holiday in South Africa. Once known as Easter Monday, it is now called Family Day.
