​Region F social services play an important role in developing self-reliant individuals, families and communities through its workshops, projects and programmes.

It offers the following social service initiatives:

• Poverty alleviation programmes and self-sustaining initiatives to develop small medium and micro enterprises and other entrepreneurial ventures;
  
• Life skills programmes for the elderly;
  
• Providing life skills training and programmes for female development and empowerment;
  
• Youth development and empowerment life skills training and programmes; and
  
• Providing childcare services that ensure appropriate standards are met in pre-schools, educare, day care and other childcare centres.
