2008-02-15: Park-and-ride-service for Pirates and Sundowns match

The City of Johannesburg's Transportation Department will provide Park & Ride services for the Orlando Pirates match against Mamelodi Sundowns, on Wednesday, 20th February 2008 to be held at the Johannesburg Stadium, starting at 19h00.

Secure parking facilities will be available at two venues, namely Bezuidenhout Valley Park (Marcia Street) & the Wits West Campus (Enoch Sontonga Street), at a cost of R20.

Transport to the Johannesburg Stadium from both Park & Ride facilities will be free of charge Metrobus will be operating a shuttle service from the Wits West campus, while Minibus Taxi's will be providing the shuttle service from Bezuidenhout Valley Park. Park and Ride facilities will start operating from 16h00.

The soccer fans need to note that the following roads will be closed and open only to accredited vehicles like VIPs and the Park and Ride shuttle services:

Beit Street/Sievewright Avenue
Erin Street/Charlton Terrace
Fitzroy/Bertrams Avenue
Beit Street/Erin Street
Staib/Northern Park
Suzie/Van Beek (Dora Avenue)
To avoid getting stuck in traffic, be wise use the Park and Ride facilities.
