2008-08-06: COSATU protest action and Pikitup's waste services - update
THE nation-wide protest action by COSATU today, Wednesday 06 August 2008, had an impact in some areas of the city on the waste collection services delivered by Pikitup, as well as on street cleaning and other waste services rendered.
We therefore urge residents whose collection day falls on a Wednesday and their waste was not collected today, to please keep their waste back until the following day on Thursday, 07 August 2008.
We apologise in advance for any service delivery problems encountered as a result of the protest action and Pikitup will do everything possible to return its services back to normal.
