2008-09-04: Alignment of billing cycle for Sandton customers
JOHANNESBURG WATER (JW) wishes to advice customers in the Sandton area of changes to their billing and meter reading dates. This is in line with the City of Joburg's Revenue and Customer Relations Management Department process of combining the customer’s database and move to a new information technology platform.
These changes have came into effect as from 01 September 2008 for all debit order deductions and customers are advised to make the necessary arrangements to ensure that their orders are not dishounored. As a result of the alignment process, the July and August accounts will have to be paid on 02 and 29 September 2008 respectively.
The reason for the above is due to the fact that previously Sandton customers were billed two months in areas and with the current changes they will now be billed for the month that charges are incurred.
Customers will be advised in the near future about new meter reading dates and should they have general billing queries they are advised to phone Johannesburg Water Revenue Call Centre at 011 688 1600 during working hours.
Johannesburg Water wishes to apologize to the affected customers for any inconvenience caused and undertakes to have the alignment process resolved as soon as possible.
