2008-11-13: The Executive Mayor Councillor Amos Masondo speaks at a Mid-term Report Imbizo
THE Executive Mayor Councillor Amos Masondo will be delivering the City of Johannesburg Mid-Term Report on Saturday 15 November 2008 at Simba Stadium in Pimville - Soweto at 14h00 at a Community Imbizo, which will be attended by 8000 members of the Community from all the seven regions in the City.
September 2008 marked the mid-point of the five-year electoral term. As the City did in the previous term of office, the City published a Mid-Term Report at a media launch on 29 October 2008, to re-state the commitments cited in the ANC electoral manifesto, the City's Growth and Development Strategy (GDS) and 5-year Integrated Development Plan (IDP).
Against these commitments, Joburg intends to report on progress made for a period of 30 months. At the Imbizo, the Executive Mayor will highlight on the achievements as well as the challenges that the City face.
This Mid-Term Report reviews the City's performance in terms of the areas and sectors outlined in the GDS and IDP.
governance;
financial sustainability;
economic development;
spatial form and urban management;
environment, transportation;
infrastructure;
housing;
community development;
health, public safety; and
corporate and shared services
The City of Johannesburg would like to urge more community members to attend the Imbizo where their concerns will be addressed by the Executive Mayor, Members of the Mayoral Committee and Councillors.
