​21-10-2014: National children's theatre call for auditions for a new band


 
JOIN A BAND! HAVE FUN MAKING MUSIC WITH YOUR PEERS. In addition, eminent authorities say that cultural activities play an integral role in developing a balanced individual!

This music program will give learners practice and experience in skills that reach far beyond musical notes and instruments. Without realising it, children gain experience in many non-musical life-skills that will have a positive impact on their future lives as adults. One band director quoted the Harris Poll that found that 73% of CEO’s from Fortune 1000 companies were involved in music programs in high school.

Open to all children aged 10-17 - must have a musical instrument

Instruments Auditions include drums, bass, keyboard, guitar, strings, wind, brass, piano/keyboard, guitars (including bass guitar) percussion, reeds, trumpets, etc. (sorry no recorders)

PREPARE 2 PIECES MAXIMUM 3 MINUTES EACH AND MINIMUM 1 MINUTE EACH

Note 1: We have music stands

Note 2: If you are using an electric guitar or bass guitar please bring amp and power cable and jack to jack cable

Note 3: Drummers must bring sticks and own drums - we will only supply drums for the audition

Note 4: Bring your backing track on a flash disk or cd

Starting date 2015 Classes will be held every Friday afternoon from 15:00-17:00 (3-5 p.m.) during government school term, starting 23 January 2015.

Cost R800 per term (8 classes)
