19/03/2017: City’s Museums open for free on Human Rights Day​

The City of Johannesburg is commemorating Human Rights Day on Tuesday, 21 March 2017, by ensuring that all our Museums are open, free of charge, to all our residents.
 
Our Museums not only serve as a reminder of our painful and unjust past of oppression and racism, but are also there to incite in each of us a renewed commitment to ensuring everyone’s Human Rights are protected.
 
On this Human Rights day, let us remember those who fought and gave their lives for our freedom, and actively reflect on ways that we can honour their sacrifice in our daily lives.
 
Friends and family can enjoy the historic and aesthetic offerings of our Museums during this and every other public holiday.
 
The following Museums will be open to the public on Tuesday from 10am-5pm:
1.      Transport Museum
2.      Roodepoort Museum
3.      Museum Africa
4.      Geology Museum
5.      Bernberg Museum of Fashion
6.      Hector Pieterson Memorial Museum
7.      Kliptown Open Air Museum
8.      Bensusan Museum of Photography
9.      June 16 Interpretation Centre Museum
10.  Credo Mutwa Cultural Village
