Cllr Nonhlanhla Sifumba, MMC for Community Development, will be hosting Regional Service Delivery Roadshows in all of the City’s seven regions – starting in Region A.
The purpose of these Roadshows is to showcase the Community Development’s service offerings to the community at large.
The Community Development Department is made up of three directorates and two entities.
The three directorates are:
• Library and Information Services;
• Arts, Culture and Heritage; and
• Sport and Recreation.
The two entities are:
• Joburg Theatres; and
• Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo.
“The Roadshows will be an amalgamation of all our directorates’ and entities’ mobile services – which will be used to educate and inform the community about the facilities and/or programmes on offer in their areas”, said MMC Sifumba.
MMC Sifumba added, “This project is motivated by this administration’s commitment to pro-poor development, as well as ensuring excellent service delivery – especially to those who were previously marginalised and on the outskirts of service delivery.”
Through this, the Department of Community Development will be able to market itself to its most important stakeholder – the resident – as well as grant access to such things as the Mobile Theatre Truck, Mobile Zoo, and the Mobile Museum to those who might not be able to visit these due to financial constraints, distance, and the like. There will also be a soccer tournament on the day.
To ensure access to all the residents in Region A, entrance to this event is free.
Event details are as follows:
Date: Saturday, 10 November 2018
Time: 09:00am – 12:00pm
Venue: Rebonwe Park in Ivory Park, Region A
GPS Coordinates: 26°00’11.1”S, 28°12’00.5”E
The ultimate goal of these Roadshows is to ensure that our residents experience excellent service delivery, and are informed about what we have on offer.
