Artists and arts organisations can apply for funding from the National Arts Council, but applications close on 2 March.
INDIVIDUALS and organisations active within the arts have been invited to submit their applications to the National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) for project funding or for bursary funding.
The NAC is a statutory public entity formed in 1997 with the Department of Arts and Culture as its executive authority.
Funding is available as bursaries for individuals and organisations, and for projects and tours. Projects that will have a positive impact on the community are advised to apply. Bursaries for individual funding are available at post-graduate level only. Artists wanting to pursue international arts studies at post-graduate level are invited to apply.
The closing date for all applications is 2 March. The NAC urges applicants to submit their application forms together with all the relevant documentation. Application forms are available at NAC offices or can be downloaded from the website.
Faxed and emailed applications will not be accepted; instead, applications must be posted to the National Arts Council, PO Box 500, Newtown, 2113 or handed in at 66 Margaret Mcingana Street, Market Theatre Precinct, Newtown.
