Dubbed the “Joburg Tourism Spring”, the campaign will focus on those aspects that have made the “Golden City” tick.
Speaking at the launch of the campaign on Friday September 7, Phelisa Mangcu, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Joburg Tourism, said the city had a lot to offer by way of entertainment spots, restaurants and hotels, among others, that it had become necessary to promote and showcase them to the general public. Encouraging, promoting and recognising the city’s young photographers; and
 Promoting “Destination Joburg” through photography on an ongoing basis. Joburg Tourism sponsored two of awards: the overall prize, which carried R12 000 in the form of a voucher from Kameraz, won by Lerato Maduna, for her entry titled “Larger in the City”; and athe runner’s up prize of R7 000.00, also from Kameraz, which went to Tessa Voler, for her entry titled “City 2”.

The other six winners will attend short photographic courses at Vega School. They are:
• Denis Smit  (Sports and Outdoor)
• Alex Masu  (Eco Environment)
• Ihsaan Haffejee  (Lifestyle)
• Bredtt Steele       (Panaromic Landscape)
