The James Hall Museum of Transport recently hosted an “open day for vintage car: for the love of transport” during the month of love.
Vintage car clubs around Gauteng were invited to showcase their collection to the general public. And boy did vintage car lovers go crazy at the well-kept oil burners on display during the open day.
Petrol heads got the chance to reflect on how transport has been depicted and commemorated at the James Hall Museum of Transport and got exposed to a wide variety of collection that is not part of the museum.
Councillor Faeeza Chame from Ward 57, members of the Piston Ring and the chairperson of Veteran Vintage Club Ian Holmes were part of the event. Scores of people were accompanied by their families. Not only was it a haven for petrol heads, history lovers were enthralled by the evolution of the automobile.
The museum is at Pioneers Park, Rosettenville Road, La Rochelle and the GPS co-ordinates are 26.233801, 28.053695 (26°14'01.7"S 28°03'13.3"E).
