Joburg Zoo’s second annual Festival Of Lights – a melting pot of illuminating colour, sound and smell – promises to enchant visitors with an impressive display of broad-beamed, high-intensity artificial lights, set to be mounted on life-size animal structures.
Scheduled to run until Sunday, 3 January 2021, the festival is expected to transform the Joburg Zoo into a kaleidoscope of bright coloured lights when it opens to the public on the evening of Sunday, 22 November.

Zoo patrons can enjoy a tranquil walk under large trees between 7pm and 10pm, on a designated well-lit route, which will also be decorated in enchanting lights, set away from the animals. Open times exclude Monday nights.
The festival will also feature classical, harmonious entertainment, food and a craft night market for aficionados and collectors.
The Festival of Lights caters for patrons of all ages. It is hosted by Joburg Theatres in association with City Parks and Zoo as well as City power.
Tickets retail at R75 for kids aged between 3 and 12, R90 for pensioners and R150 for kids who are 12 and older, including adults. Children under 3 enter for free.
Bring your family and friends at the zoo for a twinkling night of dazzling lights. Patrons are allowed to bring their food and camp- chairs; however, balloons, balls, pets and alcohol are outlawed.
