The City has embarked on an intensive #HighImpactServiceDelivery blitz to address urban challenges head-on.
This weekly, multi-entity operation deploys key municipal departments and entities [including City Power, Johannesburg Water, Pikitup, the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA), and Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo] to proactively tackle service delivery backlogs in communities across the metro.
Operating under the guiding principle of "Re-imagining Joburg through the eyes of residents," these interventions are a direct response to community concerns. The blitz focuses on issues such as widespread vandalism, illicit dumping, infrastructure decay, and the restoration of public amenities.
A significant challenge we are confronting is the pervasive theft and vandalism of public infrastructure, particularly the streetlighting network. In a proactive measure, the City is systematically replacing conventional streetlights with more resilient solar-powered alternatives to ensure the integrity of our illumination network.
We implore residents to join us as active custodians of these vital improvements by safeguarding infrastructure and reporting any suspicious or criminal activity. #HighImpactServiceDelivery
