The Chief Whip of Council in the City of Johannesburg, Councillor Khazamula Chauke, visited Ennerdale Technical Secondary School and Daleview Secondary School on 13 January 2026 to congratulate the Class of 2025 on its achievements and to motivate learners and stakeholders to continue striving for excellence.

Councillor Chauke encouraged matriculants to remain resilient, focused and committed to lifelong learning following the release of their 2025 National Senior Certificate results.

He commended the schools for their strong academic performance, noting a 97.2% pass rate, with a considerable number of learners achieving bachelors and diploma passes.

Cllr Chauke congratulated the learners for their achievements and thanked the principals, teachers, and school governing bodies for the outstanding work they do in these schools. Both schools are among the best performing in Region G. He urged them to maintain this high standard.

He also reassured learners who did not achieve their desired results that alternative pathways remain available to them. “A setback should not deter you from achieving your matric qualification. There are opportunities to upgrade results through training colleges and other institutions of learning. You must remain strong to build a brighter future."

Cllr Chauke encouraged successful matriculants to pursue higher education by making use of available funding opportunities such as NSFAS, university financial aid schemes and bursaries offered by various sectors.

He emphasised the importance of resilience and continuous self-development, urging graduates to take advantage of internship and skills development opportunities offered by the City of Johannesburg to gain practical experience and improve their future employability.
