Tomorrow, 11 April 2019, the Executive Mayor Herman Mashaba and the MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Services (EISD), Cllr Nico de Jager, led by City Power CEO Lerato Setshedi will officially open the newly built Heriotdale Substation, south-east of the inner city.
The new Substation will add significant stability to Johannesburg’s power grid, ensuring that more residents have access to electricity and a reliable supply thereof. The substation will also allow for future interconnectivity with Cleveland Substation to provide contingency in case of a power outage.
This new substation addresses outages experienced by residents, businesses and industries, especially in the south-eastern parts of Johannesburg.
