US Consulate and City of Joburg to host SMME summit at inner city opportunity centre

Friday, 12 April 2019, the MMC for Economic Development, Cllr Leah Knott and US Consul General Michael McCarthy, will host an SMME seminar and networking session where various US companies’ representatives will engage with SMMEs on market access opportunities.

Media are invited to attend the event at the Khoebo Opportunity Centre in the inner city. This opportunity centre was the first to be launched by the City of Johannesburg to help stimulate the growth of SMMEs to create much-needed jobs and to grow the economy by 5% by 2021.

This event marks the continued collaboration between the City and the US Consulate General to support entrepreneurism and small businesses as a means to spur economic growth.
