On Monday, 19 August 2019, the Executive Mayor, Cllr Herman Mashaba, and the MMC for Group Corporate and Shared Services (GCSS), Cllr Ntombi Khumalo, the City Manager and the Regional Leadership of the Independent Municipal and Allied Trade Union (IMATU), the South African Municipal Workers’ Union (SAMWU) will make a historic announcement on a binding legal agreement which is set to revolutionise service delivery in the City.

The agreement between the City and labour unions is the first of its kind and aims to forge closer collaboration between all role players within the sitting, setting the groundwork for achieving a collective service delivery agenda.

The event will be occasioned by a signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by all parties.

Venue: ​A-Level Auditorium, Council Chamber Wing, Metro Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard, Braamfontein.
