Tomorrow, 12 February 2019, the Executive Mayor Cllr Herman Mashaba and Member of the Mayoral Committee for Finance, Cllr Funzela Ngobeni, will join a Buya Mthetho operation which will focus on issuing pre-termination notices to large business and property owners who have connected illegal connections to the City’s service.
Operation Buya Mthetho, is a daily ward based raid initiative focusing on the implementation of City’s bylaws within the municipality. The revenue enhancement unit has been actively targeting large non-compliant developments to recuperate lost revenue when the City’s services are connected illegally.
Tomorrow, the focus will again be on recently developed properties which have cost the City millions in lost revenue.
Members of the media are invited to join the Buya Mthetho Unit as they embark on this operation.
There will be photo and interview opportunities.
