On Monday, 23 September 2019, the Executive Mayor, Cllr Herman Mashaba, the MMC for Public Safety, Cllr Michael Sun, and the acting MMC for Group Corporate and Shared Services (GCSS), Cllr Leah Knott, will receive the first batch of Emergency Management Services (EMS) vehicles, including fire and rescue vehicles, as part the fleet renewal programme.

The renewal of the City’s EMS fleet is a long-awaited critical service delivery initiative which will directly impact in the lives of our residents. 

The City will take delivery of these 15 skid vehicles, to add on to the existing Grass Fire Vehicles.

Furthermore, the City expects to take delivery of batches of emergency vehicles, including pumper fire engines, at the end of each month.
