The Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Cllr. Geoffery Makhubo, will tomorrow, 22 April 2020 launch a massive hand washing campaign at Mangolongolo Informal Settlement, Ward 65 to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the City.
The Hlapa Matsoho campaign is a City initiative campaign aimed at educating communities and residents of Johannesburg, specifically in informal and depressed communities about the importance of washing hands with soap.
The City of Johannesburg is the epicentre of COVID-19 currently in the Gauteng province. Over the last three weeks the City has implemented measures aimed at providing water supply to depressed and informal settlements and is now aiming to promote sustainable messaging on hygiene and handwashing as part of public awareness on COVID-19.
