Following an outcry for municipal customer services to be brought closer to the Ivory Park community, the City of Johannesburg on Wednesday, 16 April 2021, re-launched the Ivory Park Customer Service Centre as part of the City’s Accelerated 120 Days Service Delivery Campaign.

The Centre, which then only offered pay points services, was closed after it was often left standing idle and not used by the local community. It was reopened by the Executive Mayor, Cllr. Geoff Makhubo at the Ivory Park Fire Station.

“This time around the Centre has been reopened with an extended offering of municipal services that will see residents of Ivory Park being able to apply for pensioner rebates and the Expanded Social Package (ESP), among other services,” Mayor Makhubo said.

“There is no longer a need for Ivory Park residents to spend money on a taxi, or in some cases taxis, to travel to neighbouring townships or the central business district to access municipal services because as from today they have the convenience of having them right here in their township,” added Mayor Makhubo.

In the bid to make City services easily accessible, the Ivory Park Customer Service Centre will also offer the following services on weekdays from 07h30 to 15h30:

Obtaining a municipal statement
Request meter readings and investigations
Apply for pensioner rebates and ESP (Tuesdays and Thursdays only)
Refund requests
Account queries
Query logging
Update of information
Acknowledgement of debt (AOD)
Reconnections and disconnections
Account payments.
