The City of Johannesburg is continuing its regional open days with the focus on regions A, C, D, E & F which were left out from the previous series of open days.

These Open Days form part of the City’s ongoing attempts to improve customer service by attending to queries logged at respective customer service centers and call centre. All Ratepayers who have outstanding queries are encouraged to attend.

“In our efforts towards achieving customer service excellence we always put ratepayers at the center of what we do. These Open Days are rolled out for the convenience of our customers,” said Kgamanyane Maphologela who is the Director for Communications and Stakeholder Management, Group Finance
Department.

Ratepayers can expert on-the-spot query resolution which will be made possible by the presence of all role players in the query resolution value chain. A team of experts from entities such as City Power, Joburg Water and Billing department will be brought together to enable successful query resolution and application of other property related services.  

Maphologela said, “We call on all ratepayers to make use of this opportunity to get all the clarity they need regarding their outstanding issues, we have noticed that some queries simply need an interaction with experts for a broader and contextualized explanation on what has been done.”

Municipal account holders in financial distress are encouraged to contact the City’s Credit Control Department to make special payment arrangements via email on creditcontrol@joburg.org.za.

Furthermore, for customers struggling to keep their municipal accounts up to date during these trying times, the City offers a range of relief programmes that customers should note.  

Our Debt Rehabilitation programme is extended until 30 December 2021 and customers are encouraged to apply for this programme – either online www.joburg.org.za or email debtrehab@joburg.org.za or visit any of our customer service centers or apply directly at one of the regional open days scheduled below.
