Ward committee elections for Regions A, E and G in the City of Johannesburg will take place this Saturday 14 May 22.
Councillor Vasco Da Gama the Speaker of Council says, “We are expecting a large turnout of voters especially in Region G that has 53 voting stations with Regions A and E having 29 and 36 respectively. Once again residents are encouraged to cast their votes for the candidates, they think will best represent their community in support of the ward councillors”.
Voting stations open at 9am and close at 4pm. Residents are reminded that they can only vote in the ward registered in and not across wards and must have an SA Identity document.
Ward committees play a vital role by being an additional link in support of both the community and ward councillors so that issues can be addressed speedily.
