The Department of Development Planning is aware of the inconveniences and delays that are being caused by glitches in the Construction Permit Management System (CPMS). For this, we sincerely apologise. This has resulted in development and construction delays that are unacceptable to all concerned.
We would like to assure the public and our stakeholders that the department is working to fix glitches in the system.
In our commitment to mitigate the inconvenience experienced by our customers, the Department has adopted the following interim measures:
1. For all building applications that were approved on CPMS for which applicants were unable to download the signed copies due to technical problems, applicants will now be able to receive a stamped hard copy. This will require that applicants to please bring two sets of copies of the plans submitted and approved on CPMS to the City of Johannesburg. The hard copies will be verified against the applications submitted on CPMS, signed and ready for collection within an hour.
2. All hard copies will be signed off at the Metrolink Building, 158 Civic Boulevard, Braamfontein.
For the convenience of our customers, we have extended our operating hours to:
Monday - Friday: 08h00 to 19h00
Saturday : 09h00 to 13h00
This new arrangement will start from Monday, 5 September 2022, to Friday, 30 September 2022.
