t snow fall occurred on 16 May 1891, a Saturday morning. Those pioneers must have felt the heat. The first swimming bath was opened in Fordsburg in April 1888. Smith says: "Numbers will be limited and gentlemen should record their names. Also arrangements for ladies." Joburg has come a long way.
