Morkoa Swallows F.C
Moroka Swallows is a South African club that currently competes in the Premier Soccer League.
The club was founded as early as in 1940s when a trio of football lovers organized the team initially called Congregated Rovers after the firm where most of its players worked. In 1947 the side was renamed into Moroka Swallows.
The club had a fruitful period in the 1950s and 1960s. The year 1965 brought them true glory as Moroka Swallows won the South African League title. Since 1996 the team competes in the Premier Soccer League but they haven't claimed for its silverware yet. The farthest the club has progressed in league competitions was the 2nd place in the 2011/12 season.
The team are often nicknamed the Beautiful Birds or the Dube Birds and a swallow is depicted on the club’s emblem. Moroka Swallows hold their home games at Dobsonville Stadium with the capacity of 24,000 seats.
